EverTrue East: PTO Carryover, PTO Cash Out, & PTO Transfer to Extended Leave options for 2024/2025.
The information provided below outlines the options available to eligible LSS East team members related to their unused PTO balances as the end of 2024 approaches:
PTO Carryover:
In past years, eligible team members were offered the opportunity to carry over up to three (3) weeks of PTO time into the following calendar year. Heading in to the 2025 calendar year, LSS East staff will be able to automatically carry over 100% of any unused PTO hours they have. No action is needed. The carryover will occur automatically.
PTO Cash Out:
Hourly non-exempt staff ONLY:
An hourly non-exempt employee may opt instead for a cash-out provision of up to two weeks of PTO for cash, paid at 50% of the base rate of pay.
If an employee prefers to utilize this option, this form must be completed and be submitted to “HR Central” by no later than Dec. 15, 2024. Click here for your PTO Cash Out form.
*Please note: In March of 2025, these same team members (as well as all PTO-eligible team members) will have an option to “cash-out” (or “sell back) up to 20-hours of unused PTO, paid at 100% of the base rate of pay. Visit www.lssbenefits.org/pto-paid-time-off for more details on this option coming to the East Region in 2025.
PTO to Extended Leave option
No matter what decision(s) you make for your PTO year-end balance, if you are a full-time employee, you also have the option of designating your 2024 carryover of time as PTO, Extended Leave*, or a combination of both. However, since all unused PTO will carry over from 2024 to 2025, there’s no reason to convert your PTO into Extended Leave time because if you keep your PTO hours as PTO hours, you can access them for whatever reason you like as opposed to Extended Leave hours (or soon to be ESB hours in 2025) which can only be accessed in certain circumstances. To discuss this subject, please contact your HR Manager.
Please contact your HR manager if you have any questions.
